The person who had discovered his brother’s body took out a small box. “This is what he was holding when the body was found.”
Yeon-woo hadn’t heard any news from him during the past five years, and now, he had returned to him inside a cold urn. His brother’s ashes had been scattered at the sea in front of Taejongdae, his brother’s favorite place. Yeon-woo’s younger brother had disappeared five years ago, and this obituary was now notifying him of his brother’s death. The word ‘obituary’ was written in the letter. It was a letter he had received during his mission. With a cigarette in his mouth, he took something out from his pocket. Having come back to Korea after a three-year deployment in Africa, a sense of tranquility permeated Yeon-woo’s heart. A Korean flag shined brightly on his arm, indicating his belonging to a military contingent.Īfter organizing his backpack, he made a phone call.Īfter expressed his gratitude, Yeon-woo ended the call and put his phone down.
